Are You A Minister Of Jesus

(Matthew 20:25-28)

I. INTRODUCTION:

A. “Minister” [Diakonos] “A servant, attendant, minister” “Minister” = Servant

1. Are you a servant of Jesus?

2. ALL Christians are to “minister” to, or serve Jesus.

II. SERVANTS/MINISTERS RECOGNIZE THEIR MASTER (Matthew 28:18) “And Jesus came and spake unto them saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”

A. JESUS IS LORD OF ALL (2 Corinthians 5:10-11) “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”

B. ONLY THOSE THAT FOLLOW HIM ARE HIS (John 10:1-5)

III. SERVANTS/MINISTERS IMITATE THEIR MASTER (1 Peter 2:18-25)

IV. SERVANTS/MINISTERS OBEY THEIR MASTER (Hebrews 5:8-9) “Though he were a son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.”

A. THOSE WHO DO NOT OBEY, ARE NOT HIS SERVANTS (Luke 6:46-49) “And why call ye me ‘Lord, Lord’ and do not the things which I say?”

V. SERVANTS/MINISTERS LOVE THEIR MASTER (1 John 4:9) “We love him, because He first loved us”

A. OUR ACTIONS SHOW OUR LOVE (1 John 4:10) “If a man say, ‘I love God’, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also.” (John 14:15) “If ye love me, keep my commandments” INVITATION
